چکیده

Purpose: To investigate the anticancer effects of sparteine against human cervical cancer.
Methods: Cell viability was determined by CCK8 assay, while 4′, 6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI) staining used for determination apoptosis. cycle analysis done with flow cytometry, cell invasion monitored using Transwell assays. Protein expressions were Western blotting.
Results: The results revealed that inhibited cancer cells halfmaximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) ranging from 10 to 25 µM. Sparteine exerted more profound antiproliferative on DoTc2 cells, IC50 However, minimal cytotoxicity observed in normal as evident 80 triggered generation ROS and apoptotic death cells. induction apoptosis accompanied upregulation Bax expression downregulation Bcl-2 expression. caused arrest at G0/G1 phase cycle, suppressed cyclin A B1. assay data showed decreased ability also phosphorylation VGFR2 a concentration-dependent manner.
Conclusion: exhibits significant activity may prove beneficial chemotherapy.

Chitosan exerts anticancer activity through induction of apoptosis and cell cycle arrest in oral cancer cells.

Chitosan, a multipurpose biomaterial, has been shown to exert effects against several types of cancer including oral cancer. However, the mechanisms underlying the anticancer activities of chitosan on oral squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) cells remain largely unknown. The present study aimed to compare the effects of low-molecular-weight chitosan (LMWC) and cisplatin on oral SCC Ca9-22 and non-can...

Quercetin induces cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in CD133+ cancer stem cells of human colorectal HT29 cancer cell line and enhances anticancer effects of doxorubicin

Objective(s):The colorectal cancer stem cells (CSCs) with the CD133+ phenotype are a rare fraction of cancer cells with the ability of self-renewal, unlimited proliferation and resistance to treatment. Quercetin has anticancer effects with the advantage of exhibiting low side effects. Therefore, we evaluated the anticancer effects of quercetin and doxorubicin (Dox) in HT29 cancer cells and its ...

Anticancer effect of Artemisia extract and cisplatin on induction of apoptosis and inhibition of proliferation in A2780 human ovarian cancer

Cisplatin, as a chemotherapy drug, causes serious side effects in the advanced stages of the cancer. Recently, Artemisia has been considered for its bioactive compounds, anti-proliferative and anti-inflammatory effects. The aim of this study was to evaluate the anti-cancer and anti-metastatic effects of the methanolic extract of aerial organs of Artemisia and cisplatin, either alone or in combi...

Chenopodium Botrys as a Source of Sesquiterpenes to Induce Apoptosis and G1 Cell Cycle Arrest in Cervical Cancer Cells

Conducting cell apoptosis pathways is a novel strategy in cancer treatment. This study aimed to explain that C. botrys essential oil could induce apoptosis and arrest the cell cycle in HeLa cells. Cytotoxic and apoptogenic effects of the essential oil of Jerusalem-oak (Chenopodium botrys L.), which was obtained from the aerial parts of the plant, were evaluated in HeLa cells. Cell viability was...
